When I use the feature of neovim to change the cursor for the vim modes, it doesn't work with the inbuilt terminal of aerc.

Well I can understand why you don't want to support custom CAs, but pinning a server certificate is a legitimate feature request IMHO.

aerc should be able to check the tlsa record for the imap and smtp servers to validate if the ssl certificate of the servers are correct
