~alextee/zrythm-feature#552:
add pref for automation recording style

i think if you set a curve as square then every curve created after that will be square
nope doesn't work
but anyway recording should always be square ("pulse")
keep last recorded value until the next
the current behavior makes more sense for creating automation via the UI

I feel like you still want the threshold behavior so when you have a cc just sending a string of slightly different values you can interpolate between them
to distinguish if the intent is "instant jump" or "this device just can't send a perfectly continuous stream so it has some small jumps"
alextee@alextee:matrix.org
hmm
that doesn't make sense
if you played the device itself directly in an instrument, it wouldn't interpolate
so zrythm should behave like that too when you record
Sawyer Bergeron
oh I assumed this was going to apply the same interpolation behavior during monitoring
alextee@alextee:matrix.org
hmm but when connecting a midi controller to some random plugin control then you might want to interpolate
Sawyer Bergeron
yeah if it isn't doing that during record it should just pass through
alextee@alextee:matrix.org
maybe it needs a setting after all
automation recording style: interpolate/flat
and maybe a separate one for MIDI CC ?
or MIDI things in general
Sawyer Bergeron
yeah CC vs note should probably be separate prefs
