Wow, you're right, it isn't mentioned in the documentation. I'll be sure to add it in there, perhaps on the configuring page.

You can find how to set a privacy policy here: https://git.sr.ht/~cadence/bibliogram/tree/master/src/site/pug/privacy.pug.template

Let me know if you have problems following those instructions. 21/08/2020 07:24:29 Stemy outgoing@sr.ht:

I followed your instructions, but it's not working. I have a privacy.pug in the directory /src/site/pug/, set has_privacy_policy to true, restarted bibliogram service, but the link to my policy showed on my homepage give a 404 error. What did i do wrong ?

That's weird that it doesn't work. What URL did the homepage link to? And is your instance public?

~stemy a month ago

Yes, it is. The URL: https://bibliogram.stemy.me/privacy

The front page of your instance says that you have not set a privacy policy, which means that Bibliogram did not detect your modifications to config.js, or that the modifications were not performed correctly. You may have misplaced the setting or made a typo. See docs/Configuring for documentation on how to set things in the correct way.

I have corrected the misconfiguration, my instance says that i have a privacy policy, but i still have a 404 error.

Can you tell me the full path to the privacy.pug file you created? (Use ls -l $PWD/path/to/privacy.pug)

~stemy a month ago

/var/www/bibliogram/src/site/pug/privacy.pug

The file privacy.pug.template is in the same directory.

Well, that's odd. Everything should be working.

How exactly are you running Bibliogram? What commands are you using, is it Docker, etc.

I'm on Yunohost, i installed it with the internal packaging system (https://github.com/YunoHost-Apps/bibliogram_ynh).

I have not heard of Yunohost before. The steps that you have already followed should be sufficient on an ordinary installation.

So, this issue is probably something that Yunohost needs to deal with, not me.

I looked at their packaging script and I don't see any obvious problems.

If you want, you could try installing Bibliogram manually and see whether you still have this problem of the privacy policy not displaying. This is not difficult to do.

If fish is available in your system package manager, please install that, and then use the bibliogram-updater script for a guided installation that's easy to tear down afterwards. fish: https://fishshell.com/ bibliogram-updater: https://git.sr.ht/~cadence/bibliogram-updater

If fish isn't available for installation, read the Bibliogram installation overview and select a method that isn't Docker. https://git.sr.ht/~cadence/bibliogram-docs/tree/master/docs/Installing%20%28basic%29.md

Closing this since it's not my problem and I haven't had a recent response. Feel free to reopen if you have something more to say.
