For a few days now Bird.Makeup sends tweets over multiple times. Before it used to only send them once but now I see the same tweets again and again and again, which is a bit spammy.
It kind of looks like it’s not remembering what it already sent over so it’ll just refetch the last X messages and send them again.
Can you tell me which account(s)? I might be something else a bit more complicated related to a change I made recently

Uff… since I follow a lot of Twitter people it’s A LOT of them. I’ll keep an eye on it and send you a list some time today or tomorrow (since it’s easiest to notice when it built up over night)
i don't know if this is related but i've seen the same behaviour on my mastodon instance while selfhosting a birdmakeup instance when i messed up with the "Content cache retention period" option in Administration - Server Settings. now it's the default/null and its working fine
I do have a self hosted personal mastodon instance as well. I’m using the default bird.makeup though. And yeah I did change the content caching settings to this recently (cause I’m running out of space slowly otherwise). You think it’s related?
~Kai Dederichs then it's 100% the same issue as the one i had. the "fix" is to revert to the default.. at least that fixed it for me after 1-2 days (tweets had to be cached again)
Yeah I did reset it now and I’ll keep an eye on it. Though an actual fix would be great if it ends up being that

Ok so about two days after putting the mastodon settings back to the default value instead of 4 days it seems to have fixed the issue. Question now is it that a mastodon bug or something on your end that could be fixed? (Because I’d very much like to get rid of old unused content clogging up my disk space)
