Currently you only need a piece of black stained glass directly above you. This allows for easy survival under the sun. I think requiring a small area (like 3x3 5x5, you stand in the center for safety) would increase the difficulty factor.

If we just check if there is 1-2 glass on either side, then making ceilings of the stuff, for like a skylight, would not work too well. We should check if it's glass OR solid blocks. Maybe a larger area would be good, like how water spreads. Making it a water spread would be good, because it would give the player an easy way to measure. So something like:

xxxx0xxxx
.xxxxxxx.
..xxxxx..
...xxx...

where the center is glass.

We could investigate and figure out how many solid blocks would make it light-level 3.

Say you have two tickets, #1 and #2. While creating #2 you forget to say it depends on #1, and you wanted #1 to have the ~user reference this from #2, so you go back and edit it. Editing a ticket with a reference does not create that message in the referenced ticket.

Allow a sort of sunlight extrema. Maybe set the player on fire during noon, and deal half damage during the night. See Day-Night Cycle for information on timings.

Allow this to be configured, requiring #3 of course.

Plugins should be configurable by the server owner. Here are some things that should be configurable.

Custom Death Messages

Something like was burnt to a crisp by the sun. Maybe allow multiple in a separate file? Leaving this value blank ("") should result in no message.

Sun Damage

The ability to change the damage, both the player and helmet, take from the sun.

Adjust By Difficulty

A multiplier per difficulty level that would change the damage. For example, if normally players take 2 damage from the sun but on hard there's a multiple of 5, deal them 10 damage(ouch).

There is currently no advantage to having Fire Protection above level 1, they all damage the helmet the same. I vote we add an unbreaking-like effect so that levels above one give a chance to not damage the helmet.

It should be a low value, something like a 12.5% chance to not damage for level 2, 25% for level 3, and 50% for level 4. This would mean that a Fire Prot IV helmet would effectively have 2x the sun durability.

When we get around to configuration, these values should be able to be changed. This requires #3.
