I tried to compile some software, but Meson fails to find pkgconf. This happens because I'm using a cross compiler and Meson tries to exec "i686-w64-mingw32-pkgconfig --version". 'i686-w64-mingw32-pkgconfig' is a script implemented in this way:
#!/bin/sh exec pkgconf --personality=i686-w64-mingw32 $@
and actually, when this script is called from bash prompt, I'm getting this:
$ i686-w64-mingw32-pkg-config --version pkgconf: --version specified with other options or module names, assuming --modversion. Please specify at least one package name on the command line.
because the presence of "--personality" option in the script makes the "--version" to fail. At first view, I was thinking that pkgconf should not rise this error message when the option for selecting the personality is provided, because that information is unknown to Meson or other tools. So, I'm providing this issue to let you know the issue and if it could be solved in some way.
Thank you very much for your time. Sincerely.
