JSON Unmarshal issue when receiving a follow from mitra

The specific error message is:

Can't save activity Follow to inbox
jsonld: error calling MarshalJSON for type *activitypub.Actor: invalid character 'h' after object key:value pair

Looks to be a malformed json error when dereferencing the actor that operated the Follow.
