~migadu/alps#174:
Add JMAP support (as an alternative to IMAP + SMTP)

"JMAP is intended to be a new standard for email clients to connect to mail stores. It therefore intends to primarily replace IMAP + SMTP submission. It is also designed to be more generic such that it can be extended with contacts, calendars in the future (replacing CardDAV/CalDAV). It does not replace MTA-to-MTA SMTP transmission."

The 3 main Open Source servers that support it:

Would a patch implementing JMAP support be considered for inclusion? I'm just asking in case someone would be willing to step up to do the work.

I would say this is unlikely. This will break a lot of assumptions, supporting both IMAP and JMAP will introduce a lot of complexity, and I have very little time to allocate for reviews.

So the conclusion is that if somebody wanted to implement it they most likely would have to fork the project.

Thanks for the clarification!
