I just added a custom resolution (360x720) with cvt and xrandr. After switching to it the display got all wonky and has a line going through the middle of it, left half flickers the shadow of the apps that ran when i changed reslotion - even before the OS boots.
I permanently ruined my screen with that. Save yourself the 30$ replacement screen + 30$ shipping
That's a horrible bug! Have you reported this upstream to pmOS? If this is a kernel bug, we should make sure it gets patched ASAP.
IT MIGHT NOT BE PERMANENT!
The line going through the middle of the screen is still visible, but less than yesterday! Also the flickering ceased completely by now. I left the phone over night without battery.
Tagged megi on matrix as he's working on the drivers so 'upstream' knows. The current driver shouldn't allow invalid modes to be set as far as we know. It might have been an issue with the pixel clock of the modeline that was created by cvt, but nothing concrete has been found yet.
Well, I left it charging overnight and the display is back to normal now, the line completely disappeared.
