Darwin lacks htobe32 & htobe64, among the other functions in that family for bite swapping. Try using a wrapper which makes use of the functions in libkern/OSByteOrder.h

I was wondering why an ISO image specifically, currently you have a flat image which can be used as a live env, attached as a virtual disk to a guest or written it to flash media to boot from and then installed from there to another disk if you wish to.
An ISO file would give you a read only image to boot from CD.
