I have a fair few (nested) folders, enough that the Drafts, INBOX, Sent, Spam, and Trash folders are off the bottom of the dirlist in a
normal sized terminal due to some GTD like @Action, @WaitingFor folders plus Archive folders going back 19 years.
This currently means I can't see these default folders most of the time.
So, apart from getting some help in combatting my digital packrat tendencies, it would be very useful if it was possible to have the default folders that most email servers have be first in the list, then
my folders follow.
So for me, I'd see something like...
INBOX Drafts Sent Spam Trash Archive
followed by my non-default
@Accounts @Actions @SomedayMaybe @WaitingFor DeliciousBrains ...
It could be as simple as a
priority-folders setting under the
[ui] section which has a comma delimited list...
# # Ordered comma separated list of folders that should be # shown at the top of the folder list. # Any unlisted folders will follow in alphabetical order. # Leave blank to have all folders listed alphabetically. # # Default: INBOX,Drafts,Sent,Spam,Trash,Archive priority-folders=INBOX,Drafts,Sent,Spam,Trash,Archive
How does that sound?
Having just configured a second account in Aerc I now see that the setting should probably either sit in accounts config, or the default
[ui]setting could be overridden from
